AppTrigger Joins Microsoft Connected Services Sandbox

Application Session Controller provider brings network migration technology to the Sandbox

RICHARDSON, Texas – April 15, 2008 – AppTrigger, the leader in application connectivity solutions, announced today that it has joined the Microsoft Connected Services Sandbox as a Premier participant. Powered by its Ignite™ Application Session Controller, AppTrigger will provide network migration expertise to the Sandbox, enabling service providers to speed time to market and ensure feature transparency while deploying feature-rich Web 2.0 applications on both legacy and next generation networks.

“The Microsoft Connected Services Sandbox has created a forum for accelerated innovation in the telecommunications ecosystem and AppTrigger is excited to participate at the Premier level,” said Chris Todd, president and CEO of AppTrigger. “The converged communications services market has flooded service providers with real ARPU boosters in the way of next generation applications, but limited capabilities for deploying these new mashups. AppTrigger sees this initiative as a means to facilitate the deployment of these mashups in both traditional and NG networks.”

Formed in 2006, the Microsoft Connected Services Sandbox facilitates collaboration among independent software vendors, developers, system integrators, network equipment providers and telecommunications service providers. The Sandbox was designed to promote faster development and deployment of compelling communications services to a converged communications market.

“We are pleased to welcome AppTrigger to the Connected Services Sandbox,” said Terry McGuigan, Director of Global Partners in the Communications Sector at Microsoft. “The goal of the Sandbox is to provide operators with the ability to deploy new connected services through the mashup of next-generation applications and traditional services. The Sandbox provides an environment to fuel innovation around the development of Telco 2.0, and AppTrigger’s technology can help accelerate new services for telecommunications providers and introduce new options to consumers.”

In order to help service providers create new applications and capture new revenues from the Web 2.0 ecosystem, AppTrigger’s Ignite ASC 8.0 has combined Parlay X Web Services with rich call control – providing a network layer service component that provides Web 2.0 interface with IN/NG IN real time network based services such as Presence (IMS/SIP), Terminal Location (Mobile positioning) and enhanced SMS (short message) in a highly scalable, performance rich environment.
