Lev Volftsun Joins AppTrigger's Board of Directors as Chairman
Co-founder of Lightspeed and former CEO of Dynamicsoft to lead board
RICHARDSON, TEXAS - September 13, 2006. AppTrigger, Inc., a leading developer of Network Layer Service Delivery Platform software, today announced that it has named Lev Volftsun as chairman of its board. A successful entrepreneur and experienced CEO, Volftsun brings expertise in delivering worldwide communications solutions and has a proven record of optimizing available technologies to meet business objectives.

Mr. Volftsun co-founded Lightspeed International Inc. and served as its CEO prior to Lightspeed’s acquisition by Cisco Systems in 1998. Subsequently Lev served as the CEO of Dynamicsoft, which Cisco Systems also acquired in 2004. “The need to quickly bring applications to the marketplace, along with the challenges faced by network operators and application developers as they try to keep pace with rapid network evolution, highlights the importance of the AppTrigger ASC solution,” said Lev Volftsun. “I am excited to be part of what I believe is a breakthrough in how applications are rapidly delivered across disparate networks.”

Dr. Patrick Nettles, an AppTrigger board member since 2004, has served as CIENA’s executive chairman of the board of directors since May 2001; previously he served as CIENA’s chairman of the board, chief executive officer, and president. Dr. Nettles currently serves on the board of directors at Axcelis Technologies, Inc., and he is a Trustee for the California Institute of Technology. He has also served as a member and chairman of the Georgia Tech Advisory Board.
Dr. Jon Bayless, a general partner with Sevin Rosen Funds, has served as chairman of both Landmark Graphics Corporation and CIENA Corporation. He is currently serving on the boards of Xtera Communications, and General Bandwidth.
Chris Todd, president and CEO of AppTrigger, is a 21-year telecom veteran. Todd previously held executive positions with Cisco Systems, Extreme Networks and Kodiak Networks.
Terry Rock, general partner Centerpoint Ventures and AppTrigger board member since 2003, is the former president of Convex and held several operating management positions at Convex and Texas Instruments. Terry also co-founded the STARTech Technology incubator in the Telecom Corridor? near Dallas, and is the managing general partner of the STARTech seed fund. He holds board positions with several leading information technology corporations and is a prominent high tech industry spokesman.
Jeanne Bayless, Managing Partner, Star Ventures, joined STAR Ventures in January 2002. Prior to joining STAR she served as director of strategic investments for Intel Capital. Prior to Intel Capital, Ms. Bayless was the founder, CEO, and president of AnswerSoft, a startup developing software for the automation of inbound call center operations.
